When using worm gear and worm transmission, proper heat dissipation measures must be taken!

I. Characteristics of Worm Gear Transmission

1. The transmission ratio is large, generally i=10 to 80, and the maximum can reach 1000.

2. High overlap, smooth transmission and low noise;

3. Compact structure, capable of achieving reverse travel self-locking;

4. The relative sliding speed of the tooth surface is large, but the efficiency is low. It is mainly used in medium and small power, intermittent operation scenarios, and is widely applied in machine tools, metallurgy, mining and lifting equipment.

II. Displacement of Worm Gear Transmission

Repositioning: That is, when processing a worm gear, changing the position of the cutting tool. And the worm is equivalent to a cutting tool. So only the worm gear is displaced, while the worm remains in the same position. That is, when the size of the worm gear changes, the size of the worm remains unchanged. However, after the displacement, the pitch circle of the worm changes, while the pitch circle of the worm gear always coincides with the pitch circle. The purpose of displacement: To adjust the center distance and transmission ratio.

III. Heat Dissipation measures for Worm gear transmission

When the thermal equilibrium temperature of natural cooling is too high, the following measures can be adopted:

1. Add heat sinks to the outer surface of the box to increase the heat dissipation area;

2. Install a fan at the end of the worm shaft to accelerate air circulation;

3. Install cooling pipelines in the oil pool;

4. Pressure oil injection circulation lubrication is adopted (with the radiator installed).
